The first, balancing tricks were made to record and remember the gymnastic performances on furniture around the house by her then, young son. The work keeps safe the notion that balancing on the edge of an armchair on one knee is a daring and magnificent act for a three year old boy. Watching the displays of flexible athletics were moments of adulation, pleasure and amusing entertainment.
The work was pinched and coiled then raku fired with a white crackle glaze. |
